That $30 'vintage' forum from 2003 still takes new registrations but nobody's posted since 2019
I found this old forum dedicated to discussing dial-up modems, and it's still running but completely dead. I spent 2 hours reading old threads about 56k connection speeds before realizing I was the only living person there lol. Has anyone else wandered into a digital ghost town like this?

Can't believe that forum is still taking registrations. I mean who is even approving them at this point, some server that forgot it's 2024? Must be surreal reading those threads knowing everyone who posted them has probably moved on with their lives like 15 years ago. I wonder if the original owner died and nobody knows how to turn the server off, that's the only explanation that makes sense. Kinda sad in a way but also hilarious that you spent two hours down that rabbit hole.

I used to think that way too, honestly. Thought those old forums were just digital graveyards nobody cared about. But then I stumbled onto one from a 2008 car club I was in and spent like three hours reading old threads about head gasket swaps and meetups. These places are like time capsules, and some of those people might still be around lurking, just not posting. It changed how I see them for sure, they are more interesting than sad.
