Watched a flat earther debate a pilot and it changed my mind about the whole thing

I always thought both sides had some points until I saw a commercial airline captain explain how gyroscopes and flight paths actually work over the Atlantic. He pulled up a 12 hour flight log with real coordinates and it made all the YouTube videos I watched look silly. Has anyone else had a debate change their view on something like this?

Yeah the "gyroscopes and flight paths" thing really gets me too. I had a buddy who was deep into flat earth for like a year and he finally shut up after he actually tracked a flight from Sydney to Santiago on FlightRadar24 with a pilot friend. The real kicker was when they showed how the autopilot uses actual GPS coordinates that don't work on a flat map. My advice is to always ask for a real flight log or a live tracking session if someone says flat earth makes sense. Once you see the math fail in real time it's hard to go back.

Hearing about your buddy finally getting it after live tracking really makes me happy, that’s a solid win.
