I finally got my brother-in-law to sit through 2 hours of JFK docs with me and he admitted the single bullet thing is weird
My brother-in-law has been calling me a tin foil hat guy for 3 years every time I bring up anything about 1963. Last Saturday we were at his place in Columbus watching the Buckeyes game and it got rained out, so I put on a documentary about the Warren Commission. He rolled his eyes for the first 20 minutes, but then they got to the magic bullet diagram and he went quiet. Around the 90 minute mark he paused it and said 'wait, so it changed direction twice?' and I almost fell off the couch. We ended up talking until 1am about the Zapruder film and he texted me two articles about it the next day. So now I'm wondering if any of you got a skeptic to actually listen, and what finally got through to them?
My uncle was the same way about the moon landing for years. He swore it was real, called me crazy, all of it. Then one night we're watching that Mythbusters episode where they test the flag and the footprints, and he just goes quiet. Next thing I know he's on his laptop at midnight reading about the Van Allen belts. Never fully came around but he stopped making fun of me, which is kind of the same thing with him. I will say the JFK stuff is a whole different level though, because the single bullet thing is right there in the official report, you don't even need a conspiracy site. That diagram does all the work for you. Once somebody actually looks at that weird zigzag path, it's hard to unsee it.
