Fell for a $80 'cryptocurrency mining' scam on Craigslist

Some guy in my town posted that he was selling a used mining rig for cheap. I showed up with cash and he handed me a box of old computer parts that weren't even connected right. Thing didn't work at all when I got home, and the number he gave me was a burner. Has anyone else gotten burned by fake tech deals like this?

Box of old computer parts that weren't even connected right" - that's rough, man. My buddy fell for something similar on Facebook Marketplace last year, bought a "gaming laptop" that turned out to be a dead shell with a brick inside it. Did you try filing a report with the police at least?

Yeah, "box of old computer parts that weren't even connected right" is rough. I had something similar happen with a cheap tablet I got from a pawn shop, it was just a case with a brick taped inside to give it weight. Did you get any money back or at least a refund from the seller?

Ugh, classic brick trick. File a police report online, it's useless but covers your back.
