Saw my first fiber mesh pour take over from wire mesh last month
I was finishing a 40-yard driveway in Austin last month and the foreman brought out fiber mesh instead of the usual welded wire I learned on back in the 90s. The mix felt different, almost sticky, and I had to change my timing on the float pass to keep it from tearing. Has anyone else noticed fiber mesh changing how the cream sets up on hot days?

Hot days make that fiber mesh cream set up weird, almost like a skin on it.

Did you catch that video from the textile engineer who explained how the heat affects the acrylic fibers in those mesh cream blends? I remembered reading that when it gets above 85, the fibers start to expand just enough to make that surface skin form. It's like the heat makes the cream separate from the mesh differently than at room temp. I noticed it myself last week when I left a tube in my car for an hour, definitely changed the texture. YMMV but maybe try keeping it in the fridge for a bit before applying on those hot days.
