My brother swears by having our dad consult on every pour, but I find it just leads to old arguments about mix ratios.

Bagged mix from Home Depot changed the game for us. We used to have the same fight over the sand to gravel ratio every single time. Now we just hand dad the bag to read the specs himself. He feels included checking the brand, and we avoid the whole mixing argument. It's not perfect but it stopped the driveway pour from turning into a therapy session.
