The shop I work at in Phoenix used to get maybe one water-damaged laptop a month, now it's three a week.

I think it's because of all the new 'work from the pool' setups people tried after the pandemic. Anyone else seeing this?

My neighbor's kid fried his laptop on a pool float last Tuesday.

Honestly that tracks. Saw a guy at a coffee shop last week with his laptop balanced on the edge of a hot tub. The steam alone... it's like people think tech is waterproof now just because phones are. Bet half those laptops have sunscreen in the keys too.

Balancing a laptop on a hot tub edge is a new level of brave. The steam fogging up the screen alone would give me a heart attack. People really do treat their expensive work gear like it's a beach towel.
