Spent 4 hours on a dead PC that just needed a CMOS reset
Customer brought in a machine that wouldn't post, no beeps, nothing. I swapped PSUs, RAM, even the CPU before I finally cleared the CMOS with a jumper. Has anyone else had a BIOS corruption present like a total hardware failure?

Yeah, that exact thing happened to me last month. A totally dead board, no signs of life at all. I was ready to call it a lost cause. Popped the battery out for a full minute, put it back in, and it fired right up like nothing was wrong. It's crazy how a corrupted BIOS can mimic a complete hardware failure. Saves you from ordering a whole new motherboard, at least.
