Last Wednesday I had three monitors die in one shift at Best Buy Geek Squad.

The first one was a customer's 7 year old Dell that just wouldn't power on. Then my coworker's HP did the same thing mid-diagnostic. The third was the store display unit that flickered out right before closing. Is this just bad luck or does monitor failure come in waves like that?

I used to be the kind of person who figured bad luck was just random, like flipping a coin. The "bad batch or power surge" idea never sat right with me because I thought electronics die on their own timeline. But then last year I had three things go in one week my home router, my car's backup camera, and the office microwave. All different brands, different ages, no storm or surge. Now I'm starting to think there really is some weird wave effect, like the universe just decides it's time for a device to give up. Your Best Buy story makes me think it's not just coincidence, there's something real about things failing in clusters.

Three things dying same day points to a bad batch or power surge hitting all of them at once.
