Hot take: the guy who ran the $1 bin at my local shop taught me more than any wiki
I was digging through a dollar bin at a shop in Cincinnati last month and the owner, Ray, pulled out a beat up copy of a Silver Surfer issue from 1988 and told me it was the one that made him start reading. He didn't try to sell it to me, just handed it over and said keep it, it's not worth anything anyway. I read it that night and it honestly hit harder than half the stuff I had been pulling from my regular list. Now I always stop and chat with him for a few minutes before I buy anything, and I've found three books I never would have looked at twice. Anyone else have a shop owner or regular who pushes stuff on them that actually turns out good?
