Update: my morning coffee routine fell apart for a week and it was a mess
My usual grinder broke last Tuesday, so I had to use a cheap blade grinder I found in the back of a cabinet for five whole days. The coffee was so uneven and bitter, it honestly made my whole morning feel off. I was snapping at my partner over nothing and just couldn't focus at my desk. I finally got a new burr grinder delivered yesterday, and that first cup this morning... it was like the sun came out. I never really understood how much that one piece of gear held my whole day together. Has anyone else had their whole rhythm thrown off by a simple broken tool?

That bit about the whole morning feeling off is so real. I had a similar thing with my work boots last month. The sole split on my good pair, and the old ones I had to wear pinched my feet all day. I was in a foul mood by lunch, just sore and annoyed at everything. It's crazy how one wrong piece of gear can ruin your whole focus.

Keep a backup grinder, seriously. I have a cheap manual one in a drawer for exactly this. It's not great but it beats a blade grinder and the panic. That uneven grind is a total mood killer.
