Appreciation post: My old French press taught me that the good stuff really does need time to bloom (and it still beats any push-button pod).
I can still picture my first proper cup, where the wait for it to steep felt just as important as the drink itself, a quiet moment you don't really get from a machine that beeps in thirty seconds flat.

You're totally right about the quiet moment. My brain needs that slow start way more than I need fast coffee. It's the only time my thoughts aren't racing.
