Finally figured out why my Python loops kept breaking after 3 tries

I kept getting index errors and it drove me nuts for like 2 days. Turns out I was modifying a list while iterating over it, which is apparently a classic rookie move. Once I switched to making a copy first, everything clicked and my script ran clean. Has anyone else hit this wall with lists, or was it just me being extra dense?
