Wasted $400 on a cheap spindle that burned out after 3 months

Bought a no-name 2.2kw spindle off eBay to save money and it seized up during a run last Tuesday, has anyone else had better luck with a specific budget brand?

Funny you mention that, my experience was almost exactly the same. I grabbed a cheap one off Amazon, lasted maybe 4 months before the bearings went. Switched to a high quality brand from CNC Depot and it's been solid ever since.

I burned through two of those cheap Chinese spindles before I learned my lesson. My buddy warned me that the bearings they use are basically recycled skateboard wheels. Finally gave up and saved for a Huanyang that's been running strong for about a year now.
