Finally got my cycle time on the Haas down from 14 minutes to just under 9

For the longest time, I was just running the same old program for this aluminum bracket job. Then I watched a guy at the shop in Dayton, Mike, tweak his feed rates and use a different toolpath for the pocketing. I tried his method on my part last week and it worked like a charm. Anyone else have a go-to trick for shaving minutes off a repetitive job?

What toolpath did he use for the pocketing? That's a huge drop in time. I've found messing with the lead in and out moves can save a lot on simple parts too. Sometimes the default is way too cautious.

That lead-in move default is crazy sometimes, like a full extra inch of travel for no reason. I've seen simple parts take twice as long just from that cautious software setting. Cutting those extra moves really adds up over a whole job.
