Swapped to an induction cooktop instead of keeping my gas range for climate reasons

I had to choose between keeping my gas stove for cooking control or switching to induction to cut my home's emissions, and after 6 months with a Samsung induction, I honestly miss the instant heat adjustment but my energy bill dropped 40 bucks a month. Anyone else made the switch and regretted or loved it?

The 40 bucks a month savings is bigger than what most people report. I tracked mine for a year and it was closer to 25 dollars. Also that Samsung model is one of the slower induction tops out there. The magnet coils in those are smaller so they don't heat as evenly. You might get better temp control with a different brand like Frigidaire or GE. But yeah the instant heat thing is real, induction lags a fraction of a second compared to gas.

Try a cast iron pan on that Samsung, it helps the heat spread way more even.
