Spent 6 months avoiding my thermostat before a neighbor showed me the programming trick

My heating bill in Buffalo hit $280 last January and I kept just turning the dial up and down like a caveman. My neighbor Bob came over and spent 10 minutes showing me how to set a weekly schedule on a $40 Honeywell. Now I wake up to 68 degrees and save around $60 a month. Anyone else stubbornly ignore basic features for way too long?

Sixty five sounds like a good way to wake up grumpy in a Buffalo winter. A whole five degrees colder and you're probably layering a hoodie over your pajamas just to get coffee. Most people are fine with 68 and a little comfort over maxing out every penny.

68 degrees" is a bit high for savings, more like 65 for real results.
