PSA: I used to think buying local produce didn't matter much for climate change

Weirdly enough it was a video of a trucker talking about fuel costs that changed my mind. He said a single head of lettuce travels about 1,500 miles on average and that number made me realize how much diesel we burn just to eat salads in winter. Now I get a box from a farm about 20 miles away and the stuff lasts way longer too. Anyone else have a random conversation or video flip their thinking on this stuff?

yeah finding a local farm box totally changed how I think about where my food comes from too.

@calebm75 wait, you didn't know about the giant rat they found in their lettuce last summer?
