My neighbor argued that focusing on our own homes is a waste of time for climate action.

He said, 'Changing your light bulbs won't stop a coal plant,' and pushed for only big policy fights. But my solar panels cut my bill by 60 bucks a month, which feels real. Where do you stand on personal steps versus pushing for system change?

My solar panels are my only real win, but I still can't find my keys.

That "only real win" line hits hard. I know that feeling where one good thing is totally overshadowed by the daily stuff that falls apart. It's great you have the solar panels working, but losing your keys just ruins the vibe. I've spent whole mornings looking for mine, and it makes every other win feel smaller. Hope you find them soon, that's a frustrating way to start the day.

Putting solar panels on my house felt like I was fighting the good fight, until I realized I was just using all that free power to charge my phone while looking for my keys. That's the thing about personal changes, they buy you some peace of mind but they don't stop you from losing your wallet in between the fridge and the couch. Big policy changes might save the world, but at least my electric bill is low while I'm wandering around the house trying to remember what I walked in here for.
