I tried switching my lawn to a clover mix to save water, and it's attracting way more bees than I expected.
After seeing a flyer from the county extension office about drought-resistant yards, I replaced half my front lawn in Tucson with a white clover seed blend last fall, and now the buzzing is constant, which is great for pollination but has my neighbor, who is allergic, concerned.

That constant buzzing you mentioned is a good sign for local pollinators, even if it's a bit loud.

Loud buzzing doesn't always mean healthy pollinators. Could just be a ton of one bug type, not a balanced ecosystem. People jump to conclusions too fast.

Roughly 3 square feet of my clover patch draws more bees than a sunflower field apparently. @burns.phoenix has a point about balance, but I'll take a buzzing monoculture over a dead lawn any day since at least the bees are getting something out of my gardening incompetence. And hey, if my neighbor's allergic, maybe I'll offer him an epipen and a free jar of honey if I ever figure out how to harvest it without getting stung 47 times.
