I finally hit 100 trees planted in my neighborhood and it felt weirdly small

I've been planting native oaks and maples in empty lots around my city for two summers now, and after hitting 100 this weekend I realized that's barely a 1% dent in the tree canopy we lost to development here. Has anyone else tracked a specific action like this and felt the numbers were way bigger or smaller than you expected?

100 trees sounds like a lot until you look at the map, right? My attempt at being an environmental hero was killing a single potted fern on my porch.
