Had a neighbor lecture me about my compost pile last Tuesday and it still bugs me

So I'm out turning my compost like I do every week, and this guy walks over from two houses down. He starts telling me I'm doing it all wrong because I put in citrus peels and onion scraps. Said it would kill the worms. I've been composting for almost 3 years now and my pile has never had an issue. Has anyone else had random folks give them unsolicited advice about their climate habits?

Stick with what works for your pile. I've been composting for years and throw in citrus peels all the time without any worm issues, just make sure you balance them with enough browns. That neighbor probably read one article online and thinks he's an expert now, so just nod and keep doing your thing.

Wait, people actually read articles about composting?
