Can we talk about how I've been washing my reusable bags wrong

I just found out reusable bags actually need to be washed and now I'm questioning everything I know about being an adult. I've been treating mine like they're immune to dirt somehow. They probably have more bacteria than my gym shoes at this point. Pretty sure I could grow a whole science experiment in the bottom of my grocery bag. But hey, at least I'm not the only one who thought they were self-cleaning.

Oh man, my friend Sarah had a similar wake-up call when she found a science experiment growing in her bag after forgetting a raw chicken package leaked in it. Now she tosses hers in the wash with her towels and says it's honestly not that hard once you remember.
