After painting our living room with recycled paint last month, I'm wondering if there's a catch I should know about
I got 5 gallons of recycled latex paint from our city's hazardous waste program for free and it covered really well, but has anyone else noticed it takes longer to dry or is that just me?

Like, maybe they add extra water or something to stretch it out" - @mary836 you're probably bang on with that honestly. I got some free recycled paint from the city once and it was like painting with pudding, took forever to dry and I kept leaving fingerprints everywhere. The color was great but wow, next time I'll plan to do one coat a day instead of rushing it. Learned that the hard way when I had to touch up a whole wall again.

Wait, you got 5 gallons of recycled latex paint for free? From the city? That's wild. I've never even heard of that program, let alone that it actually works. I mean, I've always just assumed free paint from the hazardous waste dump would be like... lumpy and weird smelling or something. But you're saying it covered well? Maybe it's just me but the drying time thing sounds like a trade off for getting it free. Like, maybe they add extra water or something to stretch it out so it takes forever to dry. That would drive me nuts if I was trying to do two coats in a day though.
