Had to pick between a new rotary head or just more rods for my old system
My old SootMaster rotary head was getting real slow, and I had a big job lined up for a 40-foot flue in an old brick house. The choice was a $450 new head kit or just buying $120 worth of extra rods to push harder and hope it held up. I went with the new head, and it cut my time on that job by almost two hours. It felt like a lot of cash at the moment, but it's been solid for the last eight months. Anyone else faced a similar choice on a major tool upgrade?

That "just push harder" plan sounds like trying to fix a flat tire by adding more air. Good call on the new head, even if it stung the wallet. Saving two hours on one job pretty much pays for the peace of mind. Bet that old head would have quit halfway up that brick chimney.

My buddy's old one snapped mid-cut. Total nightmare.
