Why does nobody talk about using a microwave to bloom spices?
I was in a rush to finish a curry paste last week and my pan was full, so I put the cumin and coriander seeds in a bowl and zapped them for 15 seconds. They popped and smelled amazing, way faster than toasting in a dry pan. Has anyone else tried this or am I breaking some sacred rule?

Yeah @phoenixgreen, you gotta use a paper bag and listen for the pops to slow down.
