Why does the tax assessor keep jumping my value $40k every single year
I mean, I get that Myers Park prices are up, but my little 2 bed ranch in Plaza Midwood got reassessed at $410k when I paid $280k back in 2021. Last year it jumped $38k, this year another $42k, and there's no way I could sell for that with the foundation cracks in the back. I filed an appeal last time but they basically laughed at the comps I brought in. Has anyone actually won one of these appeals here, or is it just a rubber stamp?

Wow, I heard on the radio last week that Charlotte's doing this to everyone, they're using those automated sales models that don't account for stuff like your foundation. I know a guy in Dilworth who fought his appeal and won by getting three separate contractors to write up the repair costs, so maybe try that angle this time.
