Took me 6 weeks to figure out why my house wasn't selling

Had my place listed in Plaza Midwood back in April. Showings were steady but no offers. After 2 months I finally asked a buddy who flips houses to walk through. He pointed out my kitchen backsplash was this busy mosaic tile that clashed with everything. Swapped it for simple white subway tile and got an offer within 10 days. Anybody else had a small change make that big a difference after waiting forever?

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes for a second though. It's like when you walk into a store and something just feels off but you can't point to it, so you just leave. That backsplash was probably that feeling for everyone who walked through. Happens with curb appeal too, I've seen houses sit for months just because the front door was an ugly color or the porch light was too dim. People don't know why they don't like something, they just know they don't like it. Sometimes the fix is way smaller than we think.
