Did your neighbor buy in the 90s or were they just talking about what they remembered? I had a similar chat with my dad's old friend last summer, he bought a house in 1995 for like 85k and now it's worth over 400k. That kind of jump just breaks my brain honestly. You start doing the math on what a mortgage was back then versus now and it feels like we're living in a completely different world. It's wild how much that reality check actually hurts to think about.

@perez.christopher so he bought in the 90s? thats the thing that gets me too. my uncle bought his place in 1998 for like 90k and now its pushing 500k. the mortgage payment back then was probably less than my rent for a one bedroom now. it really does break your brain when you sit down and actually do the math on that stuff.
