Never thought I'd love living near a light rail stop

Honestly, I always avoided places close to the light rail because I thought it would be too noisy and busy. Tbh, when my partner suggested looking at a condo in South End, I was totally against it. But after renting there for six months, I've had a complete turn-around. Ngl, the convenience of walking to cafes and not needing to drive everywhere is a game-changer. We saved so much on gas and parking, and it's made my daily commute a breeze. I used to think quiet suburbs were the only way to go, but now I see the value in being where the action is. This small win of finding a place that fits our lifestyle has been huge for us. Honestly, I'm so glad we took the chance on this area.

That line about "quiet suburbs were the only way to go" really hits home. I was the exact same way, swore I needed a yard and dead quiet streets. Then I had to live downtown for a year and the ability to just walk to a bar or a grocery store completely broke my brain. Now the thought of having to drive to get a coffee feels like a huge chore.

Actually seems like trading one set of chores for another. Sure you walk for coffee, but now you deal with noise and tiny spaces. Suburbs have their own perks that balance out the driving.
