Just heard someone call a 400k house in NoDa a 'starter home'

Remember when that price got you a decent place in Plaza Midwood. Now it's just the entry point. Anyone else feel like the goalposts moved overnight?

Honestly, what even is a starter home anymore? Tbh that price is just insane for what you get. I remember looking at places half that cost a few years back. It feels like the whole market just left regular people behind. Ngl it makes me wonder if buying a place is even possible now.

Ugh, tell me about it. I saw a listing last week that was basically a shed with plumbing (they called it a "cozy bungalow") and the price was a joke. It really does feel hopeless sometimes.
