Appreciation post: the guy who trained me at the shop in Dayton called out my seam ironing and it fixed my stretch jobs
I was training under this old timer at a shop off Third Street in Dayton about three years back and he watched me iron a seam on a Berber berber install and just said 'you are cooking it, pull back.' I had been running my iron too hot and slow for months on my own, which was making every seam pucker once the stretch settled. He had me drop the temp two clicks and move faster, and the very next bedroom I did came out flat with no ripples at all. That one tip saved me so many callback trips, I still hear his voice every time I get the iron out. Anybody else have a trainer drop one small thing on you that just stuck for good?
