Reached 500 job applications before landing an interview
I kept a spreadsheet of every job I applied to over 18 months. When I hit 500, I realized most of those were shotgun applications with no tailored resume. Has anyone else tracked their numbers and found a pattern in what finally worked?

500 applications and one interview? Bro, you could've saved 499 resume tweaks and just bought a lottery ticket. Probably would've had better odds. My spreadsheet showed I landed most of my interviews when I stopped applying to anything with a pulse and actually matched the job description. Shotgun approach is just digital confetti.

So how exactly did you figure out which jobs were worth your time instead of just throwing stuff at the wall? I tried the shotgun method for awhile and it burned me out fast. Did you have like a checklist or something you ran through before deciding to apply?
