Just realized I was wrong about networking events
I used to think those career fairs and meetups were a total waste of time. Then I read a stat from LinkedIn that said 85% of jobs are filled through networking. That hit me hard because I'd been applying online for 6 months with zero callbacks. I went to a local chamber of commerce mixer last week in Phoenix, just to test it out. Ended up talking to a guy who knew someone hiring at a shop I'd never heard of. Has anyone else had a random chat turn into a real job lead?

That LinkedIn stat is what got my buddy in Denver to finally go to one. He chatted with some HR lady while waiting for coffee and she handed him a card. Two weeks later he had an interview at a logistics place.
