I spent 6 years chasing titles before I figured out the real game

Worked at three agencies in Chicago. Kept pushing for senior roles. Got the promotion, felt empty. Realized I was optimizing for the wrong thing. The title only matters to people outside the room. Clients and bosses care about how fast you solve their problem. That epiphany hit when a junior guy got tapped for a big project, not because of rank, but because he knew the product inside out. Now I focus on skills and results, not the ladder. Anybody else make that switch late?
