Serious question, only 3 Canadian startups got seed funding over $10M in Q1 and I found that on a random stat page
I was digging around for comps on a side project last week and pulled up a funding tracker that showed Q1 2024 seed rounds in Canada, and the number of $10M+ seeds was literally 3. Meanwhile I keep seeing US startups in the same space raise $15M seeds like it's nothing, and I'm sitting here in Toronto wondering if I'm reading the data wrong or if the bar for Canadian seed rounds is just that much lower. Is anyone else trying to raise right now and hitting this same wall, or am I just looking at the wrong numbers?
