Had to pick between a Coleman propane stove and a Jetboil for car camping last month
I was heading up to Estes Park for a 4-day trip and couldn't decide which stove to bring. The Coleman is great for cooking real meals, but the Jetboil boils water in like 90 seconds. I ended up taking the Jetboil and regretted it when I wanted to fry up some eggs and bacon. Has anyone found a good balance for car camping where you need both speed and cooking space?

Ever tried running both on a single propane tank with a splitter?

You sure a standard splitter can handle the flow rate for both at the same time? I've seen some of those cheap brass splitters freeze up in cold weather when running two high-demand appliances off one tank, especially if the lines are long. Might be worth checking the BTU rating on the splitter versus what both units pull together before hooking it up.
