That $90 CLA kit from eBay left me with a seized shutter today
Ngl, I figured the generic lighter fluid and cheap grease would be fine for my old Spotmatic, but the stuff gummed up after 2 months in Houston humidity. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand of damping grease that actually holds up, or am I just stuck buying the name-brand stuff now?

Did you strip the old grease completely before you put the new stuff on, or just wipe it down and hope for the best?
