Am I the only one who thinks using canned air on a sensor is asking for trouble?

I watched a guy at a camera shop last week blast dust off a sensor with canned air and it left residue that cost the owner $80 to clean professionally, why do people keep doing this when a proper blower costs like $15 and actually works better?

Oh man, that's painful to watch. Though just a small thing - most mirrorless cameras actually don't have a mirror to wreck, they use an electronic viewfinder instead. Still, blasting canned air near any sensor is a bad idea, that propellant residue is nasty stuff.

Buddy of mine did that and wrecked his mirrorless sensor.
