Rant: 4 hours on a bad ground bond at a strip mall in Reno

Spent a whole afternoon chasing a packet loss issue that turned out to be one corroded ground clamp behind a transformer, and I'm wondering if anyone else sticks to the 2 hour rule before calling it a bad drop or just keeps digging like I did.
