Can we talk about the builder in Hope Mills who ran coax through the same hole as the romex
I did a service call out in Hope Mills yesterday, a new build off Rockfish Road, and the homeowner was complaining about slow internet on one side of the house. I pulled the wall plate in the living room and found the coax zip tied to a bundle of electrical wire, sharing the same drilled hole through the stud. That is a noise problem waiting to happen, and I have seen it in at least six houses this month alone. The outlet tested fine on my meter, but put a load on that circuit and the packet loss shows up. I get it, builders want the low voltage guy in and out fast, but drilling your own hole takes ten seconds. I told the homeowner to call the builder back and make them fix it, and she said they told her it was fine. What do you all say when a builder pulls this? Do you just reroute it yourself and eat the time, or do you make the homeowner fight it out with the GC?
