Bought a $180 wire fish tape that paid for itself in one attic job, then cost me a customer
Last month I dropped $180 on a glow in the dark fiberglass fish tape because I was tired of fighting old walls with my steel one, and it really did save me. Pulled three runs through a packed attic in about 45 minutes, no drywall cuts, and I was feeling like a genius. Then last Tuesday I got it stuck behind a fire block in a house over in Garland and yanked too hard and snapped the tip right off inside the wall. I had to tell the homeowner I needed to cut a small hole, and she was not happy about it. The tape was great while it lasted but that replacement tip kit is another $35 and I am not sure it is worth it. Any of you run the fiberglass ones or do you just stick with steel and swear at it?
