Switched from a bandsaw to a handsaw for breaking down primals and never looked back

I used to run everything through the bandsaw. Faster, right? But I kept losing meat to the blade kerf and fighting with cleanup. Last year a guy from a small shop in Portland told me to try a 12-inch handsaw for primals. Now I get cleaner cuts, way less waste, and I'm not constantly wiping down the saw. Anyone else ditch power tools for certain jobs?

Got rid of my bandsaw last spring and it was one of the better decisions I have made. The handsaw lets me feel where the bone is and adjust on the fly, so I end up with cleaner cuts and less shredded meat. Plus I can do it in my sink with no special setup, which saves a bunch of time wiping down a machine after.

Are you saying the cleanup alone makes it worth it @umab86? I hear you on the bandsaw mess, it's like half the time just disassembling and washing the parts. A handsaw in the sink sounds way simpler, honestly.
