Spent $300 on a new bandsaw blade and it either saved me or burned me depending on how you look at it

I dropped $300 on that carbide-tipped bandsaw blade for breaking down steer quarters. First week it cut through bone like butter, no lie. But after about 30 sides it started dulling faster than I expected, and now I'm wondering if I should've just stuck with my old $80 bimetal blades that I swap out monthly. The carbide blade costs less time changing blades but more money per replacement. My buddy swears by them for heavy work, says they last six months easy. I'm only two months in and already seeing slowdown. Is this just a learning curve thing or did I blow my budget on hype? Anyone else gone carbide and regretted it or loved it long term?

Picked up the same blade thinking I'd save money in the long run and now I'm just telling myself the extra $220 was for that smug feeling of having the fancier tool. My cuts are already getting grabby though so I feel your pain.

Smug feeling of having the fancier tool." Yeah, that feeling wears off fast when the cuts start grabbing.
