Had a customer tell me my lamb chops were 'too pink' yesterday
I was working the counter at the shop in Portland when this guy returns a $35 rack of lamb because he said it looked undercooked when he cut into it. I tried to explain that medium rare is the standard for lamb, but he insisted it should be gray all the way through. Do you all push back on folks like this or just refund them to keep the peace?

oh man this is my whole life right now. i had a lady bring back a beautiful leg of lamb last spring, said it was "too red" even though it was perfectly medium rare. i told her lamb is supposed to have some pink, it's not beef but it's not shoe leather either. she gave me this long lecture about how her mother always cooked lamb until it was gray and falling apart. i ended up just refunding her because she was getting really worked up, but part of me wishes i'd stood my ground more. some people just want everything cooked like a well done steak no matter what.
