That moment I realized I was salting my pasta water wrong for like a decade

Last Tuesday I was making spaghetti and I threw in a pinch of salt like I always did. My roommate walked by and was like "dude, you need way more than that, it should taste like the sea." I laughed it off but then I tried the water and it was basically nothing. Started adding salt in layers and tasting as I went, and wow, 10 years of bland pasta could have been fixed by one conversation. Has anyone else had one of those "wait, I've been doing this wrong forever" kitchen moments that was embarrassingly simple to fix?

wait, you're not supposed to taste test the sauce first, the pasta water's only for seasoning.
