Spotted a sign at the laundromat that made me rethink my whole laundry routine

Somebody posted a note about how they ruined their favorite hoodie using fabric softener on athletic wear. That tip alone saved me from trashing my gym gear, anyone else find those random bulletin board life hacks actually useful?

Read somewhere that fabric softener basically coats towels in wax, making them less absorbent. Stopped using it after that and my towels actually dry me now.

Honestly, brian303 is right. I switched to just white vinegar in the wash a few years back and my towels went from feeling greasy to actually absorbing water again. The fabric softener buildup was real, and I didn't realize how bad it was until I stopped using it. My towels used to just push water around on my skin after a shower, but now they soak everything up. Tbh it's one of those small changes that makes a huge difference for no extra cost.
