Debate: is it cool or creepy when a local store puts up a handwritten "customer of the day" photo on their bulletin board?

Wait wait wait, they're taking actual PHOTOS of customers and putting them on a board? Like, with their full face and everything? That's not endearing, that's a privacy violation waiting to happen. What if someone's trying to avoid an abusive ex or something and suddenly their face is up next to the coffee creamer? I'd feel like I'm being watched every time I walk in there, not like I'm getting a cute little shoutout. And for what, a free pastry? No thanks, I'll keep my face off their wall and pay full price.

Woof, @jones.grace you're totally right... I've actually dealt with this kind of thing before with my moving company. We never took photos of customers, but one time a competitor did and it turned into a whole mess when a customer's ex showed up at their new place after seeing the move date on a public post. It's not just creepy, it's dangerous. A free coffee isn't worth putting your safety on the line, especially if you're in a situation where you need to keep your location or face off the internet. Honestly, if I saw my picture up there I'd ask them to take it down immediately, and if they said no I'd just stop going.
