My 2017 bullet journal was a rainbow mess of washi tape

Back then I felt like I had to fill every page with color and stickers, especially after seeing those perfect spreads on Instagram. I switched to a simple black pen and a basic notebook from Target about two years ago because setting it up took less than five minutes. Has anyone else moved from super artsy to more plain and found it stuck better?

It's like the whole "clean girl" aesthetic took over everything, not just makeup. My kitchen counters used to have cute canisters and a bunch of decor. Now it's just the coffee maker and a dish soap bottle because it's faster to wipe down. The simpler something is, the less guilt I feel about actually using it instead of just making it pretty for a photo.
