That $3 street taco spot in Mexico City actually ended up costing me more than a sit-down restaurant
Last month I spent 10 pesos per taco at a cart near the Zócalo but had to buy five bottles of water because their salsa was so hot, plus I got food poisoning the next day and lost a full day of exploring, has anyone else found that ultra-budget street eats have hidden costs that wipe out the savings?

Man, I feel you on that salsa situation. I had almost the exact same thing happen in a market in Puebla - I swear their salsa verde was basically liquid fire and I downed three horchatas trying to cool off. Then I spent the next morning regretting every single bite while my buddy was out seeing the pyramids. It's like you save two bucks on tacos but lose a whole day's worth of vacation time and money on bottled water and Imodium.

You ever tried plain yogurt before the spicy stuff? Game changer.
